Trying to get a good shot!

Trying to get a good picture of my boys can be exhusting. I took 53 pictures in all and ended up with 3 good ones. Why is it that they can sit still forever in front of the T.V. but can't hold still for a few seconds in front of the camera! Below is a collage of some of the not so good pictures of the boy's. I think they turned out pretty funny!

And here we have the 3 good pictures. Gotta love boy's!!!

First 1st day of sceond grade

As you may know Triston will be starting Second Grade twice this year. Ashurst his current school started on Aug 19th but we are moving on Sept 15th and his new school Barrett starts on Sept 8th. He doesn't think this is very fair because he will have to be in second grade longer than everyone else. These are a few of the first 1st day pictures. Notice the missing tooth that is the second one he lost this year!

New Haircut and Growing Up

Keegan was starting to look like a mop (see below) so I took him to get his haircut. He said he wanted to get his haircut like daddy so it was a BIG change. He has pretty much had the same haircut his whole life. I am still trying to get used to it. It makes him look so much older.

Before

After

Speaking of looking older I can't believe how fast my kids are growing up. It's seems like just yesterday I was bringing them home from the hospital and now Triston is almost 8. I know there are days when I can't wait for them to grow up but then I look at these pictures of them and it makes me think that they really are growing up. I miss my little boys, (okay so they are both still small) I miss being able to hold them while I was doing household chores. Now they both help with the household chores.
Triston is really coming into his own and I think he has some of the pre-teen (did I really just type teen?) qualities...like his attitude, and his back talking. He is liking his independence like going out and playing without mom there and getting his own food and paying for a few of his things with money he has earned. He still has his caring side which I hope he never loses. He is also getting a lot braver, not so much that I am scared but still it's there.
Then there is Keegan, he is very defiant which I believe he gets from his dad. If you tell him no he's going to stand up to you. He is really into copying his brother and wanting to do everything he does from coloring to playing with legos (and then getting frustrated when he can't do it right). He also has a very sweet personality. He (like his brother) tries to make you feel better when you are feeling down. He still likes to hold my hand (unlike his brother) and he doesn't get bothered when I try to get kisses from him in public, yet. Triston would rather I didn't!
I have put a couple of new pictures on here of them so you can see just how grown up they are getting.

He's Swimming!!!

Well Triston is finally over his fear of water. We went to the pool last week and Triston was swimming to his Daddy. We went swimming again last night and I brought the camera. Now we just need to work on him breathing while he is swimming.

He takes a breath in this video but it was the only time he did.

"The Boy's Are Back"

Here is a video of my boy's dancing to "The Boy's Are Back". They have some very unique moves! *You need to scroll down and turn off my music player before you play the video.

07-08-09 10:11:12

So I was challenged by a scrapbooker to take a picture of what we were doing today (7-8-09) at 10:11:12. We were playing in the backyard and the kiddos were climbing our wall. I tried to get a picture of them both jumping off but Keegan got stuck, so it's just Triston jumping. I thought it was neat to capture a memory on this date at this time because it will never read that way again in our lifetime.

I love how this is a mid air shot!

Just a quick note

Well I lost my password for my blog and I have been to lazy/busy to do anything about it until now. I am currently at work so I can't access my pictures from the really fun trip to NYC I went on with my mom and kids.

The kids are doing fine Triston will be starting 2nd grade (wait can he be that old already?) and Keegan is just 3 days shy of making the age cut for preschool. Both boy's are little artist's, I guess it runs in the family. They love to color! Triston likes to draw and make books, lots of books. Keegan likes to color in coloring books and on himself, he is his own canvas, at least he stay's in the lines. Since it's summer now we have been to the pool a few times and Triston is getting braver all the time...the kid just gets so cold!! When we were at our hotel in NYC the pool was heated (nice and warm) and Triston was a fish, he was swimming all over. Okay so he doesn't have any strokes down at all but he was moving his arms and legs and swimming underwater. I was a nervous wreck. He looked like he was drowning everytime he would do this so I would grab him after a few seconds and he would get mad at me. He'd say "Mom I'm swimming here!" Keegan just sticks to blowing bubbles. When asked what his favorite part of swimming is he say's "Getting out!"

I still have my great job at Sempertoons where I work on Saturday's. It works out perfectly. Ian has changed jobs in the marine corps. He went from orders writer to reserve affairs whatever that means. He really likes his new job which means he is a little less crabby! Well thats everything for now. I will try to get on this week and post about our trip. HAPPY 4th OF JULY!!!

SNOW

Two weeks ago we got a bunch of snow. It was gone in a couple of days but before it was the boys went out in the backyard and had a blast playing in it.

Yes i'm still alive...

Okay so I know I haven't posted in a long time but I have been pretty busy and sick on top of being busy. Triston is in his second season of wrestling and he is doing pretty good. I think he would be doing better if he wasn't so tired from the Dramamine, but he has motion sickness so bad that we have to give it to him. He also turned 7 in December and I have to say that he is one of the smallest 7 year olds around. Keegan is blowing us away with how much he is talking, you can carry on complete conversations with the kid and understand everything he is saying. Although it can be a bad thing too because he is pretty good at talking back...I think that is just a natural thing kids pick up to annoy their parents. Well I am going to have to keep this short because the boys are sitting behind me arguing over who gets to play with the blocks, so until next time.....
