Okay I am pretty excited, because I ordered the book Twilight last night. I have heard wonderful reviews about it and had been looking for it in hardcover (because I prefer my books that way) but could never find it. Well I went to the authors website and to amazon from there. I got the book for tons cheaper than I had seen in paper back anywhere else. It's suppose to arrive on the 7th but I generally get things just a couple days after I order them. I will let you all know what I think once I read the book.

HALLOWEEN
So Halloween came around this year and we went trick-or-treating with my boss, his wife and there son. The kids had a blast, they were Superman (Keegan) and Capt. Jack Sparrow (Triston). Keegan's costume consisted of pajama's and a cape. Triston's costume was the real deal that came from the Disney Store, but we got it in February when it was on clearance so it only cost $12 total...what a steal!!! I put the mustache and goatee on Triston with eye-liner and when my nephew saw a picture of Triston dressed up he said "Mom he really has a mustache!"
Keegan was so funny this year. He was scared of all the decorations that people had up. There was one house that had the hand in the bowl thing that when you go to get the candy out the hand moves, well Keegan went up to this stuck his hand in to get the candy and then when it moved took off running. I don't think I've seen him run so fast. He never cried at anything he just ran away. We also painted pumpkins this year and I think I have a couple of artists in my house. I hope everyone had as much fun on Halloween as we did.

It's My Party And I'll Cry If I Want To!

Keegan's birthday party was pretty fun. He had a very cool cake that my boss designed for him. He got some pretty awesome presents, and in typical Keegan fashion, he threw a fit. We did his party at the park again this year which I happen to think is a great idea...it's free and the kids get to run off there energy. Since he is such a BIG fan of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and of balloons, we got him some very cool Mickey Mouse Balloons (I think that was his favorite thing). It was a little windy though so we had to tie the balloons down and then half way threw the party we just ended up taking them inside. All in all it was a great day, but I'm glad it's over. Now we have to get ready for Triston's party and then Christmas...fun, fun. (Sorry about the pictures and the writing being off a little, for some reason blogger won't let me put them where I want them)Posted by Jess & Ian at 11:11 AM 0 comments

I have pictures to share
While we were back home my sister took some wonderful pictures of the kids. Well with the exception of Keegan who threw a fit the entire time. She did get some pretty funny ones of him doing so though!

My Baby is 3
Okay so for those of you who don't know Keegan turned 3 on Oct. 3rd. I can't believe how big he is getting. I was very sick over his birthday so we are having his party on Saturday. I will take pictures of it and put them on here, I promise. I was talking to Keegan today and I asked him how old he was and he said 3, I then asked him how old mommy was and he said 4, so then I got to daddy and he told me his daddy is 14. I'm a little puzzled by this one because I am older than Ian, but oh well. By the way according to Keegan Triston is also 4. I thought that was pretty cute.

I got a job, yay!
okay so a couple of weeks ago I had been looking for a job and not having any luck. I was just getting ready to fill out an application for McDonald's when Ian said he needed to go get his haircut. I of course decided to go with him so I could get out of the house (he was not happy about this). I told him that while he was getting his haircut I would walk around the MCX or marine corps exchange for all you non military folks. We walked in the front door (which was strange cause we usually go in the side) and I saw a sign that the Sempertoons store was now open upstairs. I took Keegan with me and Ian and Triston went and got there haircut. The owners (the artist and his wife) were in the Sempertoons store and we got to chatting. After about fifteen minutes of talking I asked if they were hiring and they said yes. I didn't even have to fill out an application they hired me on the spot. I am working part-time, 8 hrs a day 4 days every two weeks and I LOVE IT. My bosses are super cool and it's a really fun atmosphere to work in. Plus I have the opportunity to advance if they can open more stores on other bases which is what they are trying to do. They have a website http://www.sempertoons.com/ go there and check it out. Everything is customizable. I will have some pictures of some of the things he is doing for my kids on here when I get them. If you see something on there that you like just let me know and I can get it ordered for ya.

KITTENS, KITTENS, KITTENS
Okay so I haven't posted in quite awhile so since I have the boys in bed I figured why not now.
Ian has barracks duty tonight which I so don't understand, they have enough guy's that live in the barracks to cover a months worth of duty, but no they make the married guy's that live in housing or even off base do it too. UGH!!! So I have been alone with the kiddos all day and it has been extremely HOT so we stayed in our p.j's and watched T.V. most of the day. I also did some spelling/vocabulary with Triston. He now knows how to spell 10 words that he didn't know at the beginning of the week. I was trying to do a review with him while I was giving the boy's a bath and he said "Mom, I don't need to do homework in the bathtub!!" I guess he's right since they aren't even doing the words in class yet, I just want him to be a little ahead instead of behind.
On another note we have been swarmed with kittens, (poor hubby) literaly. The first one was when I was out walking one night about 2 1/2 weeks ago with my neighbor, her dog scared a cat away across the main street by our house. We saw a kitten there but figured that we should leave it alone because the momma would probably come back. Well I went home and told Ian about it and about 30 minutes later the two of us went over to where they were. It was still light enough to see so we looked around for a bit and then we heard the tiniest little mew. The kitten was still alone and right by a gas building hiding in some bushes. With a little coaxing we got the kitten to come out from the bushes. She looked like she was 5-6 weeks old and she was really close to the road so we decided to keep her. We brought her home and she has been a wonderful addition to our family. When we first brought her home we thought she was a he (we are still not 100% sure on this one) so her name is Aslan.
So that takes care of kitten number 1...
About a week later on a Wednesday, I got up and was getting the kids ready to take Triston to school. Our two older cats (Koda and Bear) were by the back door looking out the window. I figured there was a stray cat out side because there almost always is, but I looked out there anyway. Up on top of our retaining wall right next to a box was 2 kittens that didn't look much older than Aslan. I figured that I would just keep going on about my day and that the mom would come back to them. Well by noon there had been no sight of mom and it was getting VERY HOT and I was pretty sure they were hungry. My next door neighbors were in there back yard so I enlisted them to help. What I thought was 2 kittens was actually 4. We got them, and brought them inside only to discover that they were COVERED in ticks, like hundreds of little deer ticks. So my neighbors being as nice as they are helped me give them all baths in flea & tick shampoo, in my downstairs bathroom sink. In a room that is 5ft x 5ft we had 4 adults and 4 kittens, oh what a sight.
So now I had 4 kittens that I needed to figure out what to do with. I called shelters and since it's kitten season everywhere was full. When my hubby got home he couldn't breathe, so my neighbor's up the street kept them over night and I had to have them gone the next day. Well I took them in to the humane society and one of the first thing's out of the woman's mouth was that they were going to be euthanized. So I took them back home with me. My neighbor's agreed to keep them for a week so that I could find homes or no kill shelters for them. One of my other neighbor's heard about this and she decided to take 2 of them. I put the other 2 on craigslist and hoped that somebody would be interested. I got three e-mails the next morning but they never followed through. so I put another posting up and got an e-mail back from a lady that was very interested, she came out to see them (4 days later) but decided to adopt one from a shelter. Then I posted another post in a last hope and got a response from a lady that lived up in D.C. but didn't have a car. We made arrangement's to go up there on Saturday and she adopted both of them. I am very glad that they all found good homes, but I could go for quite awhile without seeing another kitten (except Aslan of course).
Well that's all I'm going to write about now because I think this is long enough....
