I have pictures to share

While we were back home my sister took some wonderful pictures of the kids. Well with the exception of Keegan who threw a fit the entire time. She did get some pretty funny ones of him doing so though!

My Baby is 3

Okay so for those of you who don't know Keegan turned 3 on Oct. 3rd. I can't believe how big he is getting. I was very sick over his birthday so we are having his party on Saturday. I will take pictures of it and put them on here, I promise. I was talking to Keegan today and I asked him how old he was and he said 3, I then asked him how old mommy was and he said 4, so then I got to daddy and he told me his daddy is 14. I'm a little puzzled by this one because I am older than Ian, but oh well. By the way according to Keegan Triston is also 4. I thought that was pretty cute.

I got a job, yay!

okay so a couple of weeks ago I had been looking for a job and not having any luck. I was just getting ready to fill out an application for McDonald's when Ian said he needed to go get his haircut. I of course decided to go with him so I could get out of the house (he was not happy about this). I told him that while he was getting his haircut I would walk around the MCX or marine corps exchange for all you non military folks. We walked in the front door (which was strange cause we usually go in the side) and I saw a sign that the Sempertoons store was now open upstairs. I took Keegan with me and Ian and Triston went and got there haircut. The owners (the artist and his wife) were in the Sempertoons store and we got to chatting. After about fifteen minutes of talking I asked if they were hiring and they said yes. I didn't even have to fill out an application they hired me on the spot. I am working part-time, 8 hrs a day 4 days every two weeks and I LOVE IT. My bosses are super cool and it's a really fun atmosphere to work in. Plus I have the opportunity to advance if they can open more stores on other bases which is what they are trying to do. They have a website http://www.sempertoons.com/ go there and check it out. Everything is customizable. I will have some pictures of some of the things he is doing for my kids on here when I get them. If you see something on there that you like just let me know and I can get it ordered for ya.

KITTENS, KITTENS, KITTENS

Okay so I haven't posted in quite awhile so since I have the boys in bed I figured why not now.

Ian has barracks duty tonight which I so don't understand, they have enough guy's that live in the barracks to cover a months worth of duty, but no they make the married guy's that live in housing or even off base do it too. UGH!!! So I have been alone with the kiddos all day and it has been extremely HOT so we stayed in our p.j's and watched T.V. most of the day. I also did some spelling/vocabulary with Triston. He now knows how to spell 10 words that he didn't know at the beginning of the week. I was trying to do a review with him while I was giving the boy's a bath and he said "Mom, I don't need to do homework in the bathtub!!" I guess he's right since they aren't even doing the words in class yet, I just want him to be a little ahead instead of behind.

On another note we have been swarmed with kittens, (poor hubby) literaly. The first one was when I was out walking one night about 2 1/2 weeks ago with my neighbor, her dog scared a cat away across the main street by our house. We saw a kitten there but figured that we should leave it alone because the momma would probably come back. Well I went home and told Ian about it and about 30 minutes later the two of us went over to where they were. It was still light enough to see so we looked around for a bit and then we heard the tiniest little mew. The kitten was still alone and right by a gas building hiding in some bushes. With a little coaxing we got the kitten to come out from the bushes. She looked like she was 5-6 weeks old and she was really close to the road so we decided to keep her. We brought her home and she has been a wonderful addition to our family. When we first brought her home we thought she was a he (we are still not 100% sure on this one) so her name is Aslan.

So that takes care of kitten number 1...

About a week later on a Wednesday, I got up and was getting the kids ready to take Triston to school. Our two older cats (Koda and Bear) were by the back door looking out the window. I figured there was a stray cat out side because there almost always is, but I looked out there anyway. Up on top of our retaining wall right next to a box was 2 kittens that didn't look much older than Aslan. I figured that I would just keep going on about my day and that the mom would come back to them. Well by noon there had been no sight of mom and it was getting VERY HOT and I was pretty sure they were hungry. My next door neighbors were in there back yard so I enlisted them to help. What I thought was 2 kittens was actually 4. We got them, and brought them inside only to discover that they were COVERED in ticks, like hundreds of little deer ticks. So my neighbors being as nice as they are helped me give them all baths in flea & tick shampoo, in my downstairs bathroom sink. In a room that is 5ft x 5ft we had 4 adults and 4 kittens, oh what a sight.

So now I had 4 kittens that I needed to figure out what to do with. I called shelters and since it's kitten season everywhere was full. When my hubby got home he couldn't breathe, so my neighbor's up the street kept them over night and I had to have them gone the next day. Well I took them in to the humane society and one of the first thing's out of the woman's mouth was that they were going to be euthanized. So I took them back home with me. My neighbor's agreed to keep them for a week so that I could find homes or no kill shelters for them. One of my other neighbor's heard about this and she decided to take 2 of them. I put the other 2 on craigslist and hoped that somebody would be interested. I got three e-mails the next morning but they never followed through. so I put another posting up and got an e-mail back from a lady that was very interested, she came out to see them (4 days later) but decided to adopt one from a shelter. Then I posted another post in a last hope and got a response from a lady that lived up in D.C. but didn't have a car. We made arrangement's to go up there on Saturday and she adopted both of them. I am very glad that they all found good homes, but I could go for quite awhile without seeing another kitten (except Aslan of course).

Well that's all I'm going to write about now because I think this is long enough....

Road Trip

Okay so I'm in Nebraska and I am actually nearing the end of my trip here. I don't know why I haven't posted about this yet but now is as good a time as any. Our trip out here wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. We only seriously thought about tying Triston to the roof of the car once ( we would have put goggles and a helmet on him) which is saying a lot. He didn't stop talking, for four days the kid didn't stop talking. I got a D.V.D. player for the car right before the trip and I didn't let them see any of their movies for three months before we left. It worked pretty well at keeping the kids entertained but Triston complained about it a lot... it was to light, it was to dark, he couldn't hear it. We had a bunch of other things for them to do as well. Keegan was great in the car, when we got out however he was two. He threw temper tantrums, he ran away from me, basically he was a brat. Triston was just the opposite, he was a brat in the car but but he was very good when we got out. It took us four days to get to Nebraska but we didn't really hurry and we took a detour to my sisters house in MO. I have more to post with some more pictures but I will have to do it when I can use my own computer.

Here are two candid pics from our trip....

We got mid roll while he was rolling his eyes.

I don't remember what he was looking at, but it's
a great face.

For my love

Okay so I just read a post on my sister-in-laws blog and she put down a bunch of things that she loves about her hubby, so I am borrowing the idea. We have been married for four years and I thought it would be nice to say some of the things that I love about him...

I love the nickname he has for me.
I love how even though he has black hair he still has blond moments.
I love how he can make me smile even when I'm having a terrible day.
I love how ticklish he is.
I love that I can beat him in Tetris.
I love the look I get when he finds out I used his razor.
I love how he carries me up to bed when I'm really tired.
I love that he reads to me at night.
I love that he doesn't gripe when I ask him to help me clean.
I love the way that he always lets me get my food first.
I love the way he rubs his feet together at night.
I love how proud I am of him.
I love the excited sound in my kids voices when daddy comes home.
I love that we dance in the living room.
I love the little inside jokes we have.
I love how he tries to let me sleep in.
I love the way he takes care of me when I'm sick.
I love the way he always tells me how beautiful I am.
I love the way he comes up behind me and wraps his arms around me.
I love that he always tells me he loves me when we get off the phone.
I love that he puts up with me.
I love it when he draws me a bath.
I love the way he pouts when he's mad.
I love the relationship he has with my mom.
I love the way he looks in his uniform.
I love how nervous he was when Keegan was born.
I love his smile.
I love his dimples.
I love how proud he is of Triston wrestling.
I love that when we are watching t.v. he rubs my feet.
I love how short he is.
I love the way we can just hang out at home.
I love that we can be stupid together.
I love that we miss each other when were apart.
I love how he sounds Australian when he is trying to do his British accent.
But mostly, I love the way he loves me!

Our little wrestler

Okay I know wrestling season has been over for quite a while but I also know that most of you didn't get to see Triston's wrestling pictures. He loved wrestling but he struggled so much, the poor guy didn't win one match. He never let it get him down though and he had great teammates that never made him feel bad about not winning. He actually got complemented by another team's coach for being such a good sport. He went out there and tried his best and was only pinned a few times all season. He went all three minutes in most of his matches and was only beat by points. He was also almost always the littlest kid out there. After the season was over he got a very cool trophy and five ribbons. He was also the only one in his weight class (about 20 kids) to get the sportsmanship medal. We are so proud of him and can't wait till wrestling season starts this fall.
